Karmine Corp’s Bren and Otaaaq become Trackmania’s World champions!

The Montpellier-located venue that once hosted League of Legends’ LEC Season Finals organised the Trackmania World Tour 2023, on Sunday. Featuring a loud French audience, particularly excited during the competition on racing-game Nadeo, the World Championship gathered the eight best two-men teams on Trackmania, after a qualification stage that lasted the whole year.

Among the favourites, Solary’s line-up was made out of Carl-Antoni “Car Jr.” Clouter, five-times world champion and Thomas “Pac” Cole. But history’s best player on Trackmania did not manage to win a fourth trophy in a row, as Karmine Corp’s team delivered an amazing performance.

The journey of Brendan “Bren” Seve and Yoyan “Otaaaq” Egler was not so quiet, though. As soon as the group stage, a defeat against Alliance could have meant the end of their competition, but they managed to stay focused. Chain-beating Wylde (quarters) and Into the Breach (semis), Bren and Otaaaq joined Solary in the finals.

The French immediately won the two first rounds, disturbing their adversaries. The latters never managed to equalise and lost 5 games to 2. Karmine Corp is then Trackmania’s world champion, 17 years after the last French victory.
